On November 3rd, Ms. Davis and I shared our school education plan at the School Council meeting, and this will be posted on our school website shortly. After our meeting Mrs. Christine Pretty, our school board trustee, wrote the following message. ~ Mr. Gibson
I love this time of year… The changing leaves, anticipation of the impending holiday season and Alberta Education school results!
I have had a couple of occasions to look at the MCS Accountability Pillar Data, most recently at the parent council meeting last week. Although only one measure of the many ways to gauge school improvement, it can be a very valuable resource.
I am so unbelievably proud of the extremely strong results at MCS, with many of the measures significantly above the provincial averages. What is even more impressive is the five year trend data, which shows continued growth year after year. Talk about school improvement!
I strongly believe this success has many components, starting with very dedicated school administration as well as caring and committed staff who go above and beyond in many ways. I would also like to highlight the contributions
of your School Council and Fundraising Committee who work tirelessly to support all of the students at MCS. In addition it includes families and communities that value public education and support their local schools! I feel blessed to be part of a school community that values student success and continuous improvement in a safe, caring, inclusive learning environment. Thank you all for your commitment to our students!
