In any given year, we have more than 110,000 visitors come through our gates while many local, youth-oriented user groups call our rural facilities home. Our 500+ local volunteer base plans and runs many of our classic events like the Millarville Races, the Priddis & Millarville Fair, the Millarville Rodeo and the Millarville “Run To The Farmers’ Market” Half Marathon. Our popular Millarville Farmers’ Market supports local agricultural producers and is the largest in southern Alberta, while the Millarville Christmas Market is one of the largest craft fairs in the province.
This heavy, year-round, multi-decade use of our facilities means we now require substantial infrastructure improvements to remain relevant in our rural community through the next century, and upgrading our water treatment and infield is our top priority. “Capital Projects” are usually a mundane topic but a critical element supporting all that happens every day at our non-profit, community-focused, volunteer-driven facility, one of the oldest of its kind in Canada. The funds raised from this event will be used for a government grant as matching funds, allowing us to achieve our upgrade goals.
Your generous support and participation will assist our century-old Agricultural Society with upgrading our water treatment facility and infield infrastructure to ensure we remain a prominent focal point of our rural community for the next 100 years!
Our new golf tournament initiative is a key element in our fundraising campaign. Our hope is that you will see fit to support our efforts, either as a sponsor, a donor and/or a participant. We want to see 144 golfers out and having a lot of fun! We are inviting local business to also donate items for our Silent and Live Auctions which will be taking place during our dinner banquet. The Golf Tournament is scheduled for Monday, September 8th at the Turner Valley Golf Club.
