FCSS – Seniors Independent Living Assistance Program

The Seniors Independent Living Assistance Program is offered through the Town of High River’s FCSS Department and is available to MD of Foothills No. 31 residents.

The program is designed to support seniors wishing to remain in their own homes for as long as possible. FCSS subsidizes up to 70% of the contracted service fee and the remaining portion is paid by the client.

Subsidized Services through the Town of High River FCSS Department can provide eligible seniors with two hours of housekeeping every two weeks, and heavy housekeeping is available one time only.

• Volunteer tax preparation

• Assistance with completing forms

• Information about other available services

Subsidized Transportation For Seniors & Disabled MD Residents

The MD of Foothills No. 31 provides subsidized transportation for medical appointments only. This service is available through existing taxi services and the High River Handibus.

To be eligible for this program, you must be a senior citizen (65 years or older) or disabled living in the MD of Foothills. Residents may use the service once per week to a maximum of four times per month.
