MCS: Principal’s Message for October

Congratulations to our cross country running teams this year who have just wrapped up an excellent season. Joining our no-cut athletic teams is an excellent way for students to develop commitment, perseverance and school spirit and our teams consistently show all of the above and more in their athletic endeavours! Thank-you to our staff and parent volunteers for their commitment and hard work in helping our youth develop into well rounded citizens!

Jack O Lanterns on porchHalloween is coming and the kids are all chattering about their costume choices and are excited for the day. I would like to remind our students that this is a great opportunity to transmogrify into something else and have some fun, however we do not want to dress in a way that frightens our youngest students. Gory costumes and weaponry are not acceptable for our afternoon activities on October 30th. Come ready to change over lunch hour for the parade (and yes, parents are welcome too)!

We are advocating for balance with treats this month. We encourage you to consider some healthy alternatives as well as the guilty pleasures that are associated with the season. Please check our Pinterest page for some great ideas for ghoulish, yet balanced delights.
