MCS Principal’s Message for December

The winter season is upon us and we are preparing the first formal report cards this year. Time does fly when you are in the flow zone.

Congratulations to both of our volleyball teams this year! Two weeks ago both teams participated in the league championships and demonstrated all of the growth that has occurred in our short season. Mr. Cantelon and I were excited and impressed with their hard work, school spirit and their display of sportsmanship in every game. Our boys came a way 1st in our league and the girls 2nd.

Learner Profiles were sent home. Please use this opportunity to open a line of discussion with your child(ren) regarding their goals for the next term. We are proud of their accomplishments and I thank all of our teachers for their intense mental effort to provide you with the most up-to-date information of your child’s progress.

Purdy’s orders have been finalized and our community has raised over $3300 for our school fundraising budget! Thank-you to everyone for their support. Chocolates will be available for pickup on Monday, December 7th all day. If you require your child to pick up for your family. Please write a note in their agenda on that day to give permission.

Last, but not least, a HUGE thank-you to Mr. Hanson for presenting to the school last week on his weekend trip to Churchill, Manitoba to see the polar bears. It looked like an exciting trip and he shared both photos and information on the plight of the world’s largest carnivore.

Have a great December everyone!
