March 17th, March 24th, March 31 and two Thursdays in April; the 7th and the 14th at 10:30am in the library. Stories will be read and fun activities will follow. The focus will be on play, which is important in developing social skills, communication skills, creativity, imagination and sheer joy. Children must be accompanied by an adult, willing to play, too! Please let Joan know if you are going to attend.

Don’t forget the three video-conferences remaining in the Savvy Seniors Group. March 3rd is House and Home Scams. March 10th is Just For Caregivers, and the last, Before You Hire a Contractor, is March 17th. These all begin at noon.

An interesting read isThe Danish Girl, by David Ebershoff.  Inspired by a true story, it is the tender portrayal of the remarkable Lili Elbe, a pioneer in transgender history. It is set against the glitz and glamour of the 1920’s and takes place in Copenhagan, Paris and Dresden. The book explores the boundaries of gender, love and marriage and the journey to become oneself. The movie is currently showing in downtown Calgary.
