Lions Den: Gearing Up for Busy Fundraising Season

Project Green Day is May 23rd with the Foothills Lions Club hosting a BBQ for volunteers.

Foothills Lions Club Family Spray Park grand opening is May 30th at 12 Noon. Bring the family and enjoy the day.

Lions Environmental Metal Roundup will be held June 6th – 13th at Lions Garage in front of the Lions Campground in Black Diamond 10am-5pm with volunteers on hand to help unload steel, rebar, appliances, cast iron, copper wire, aluminum, or stainless steel. There is no fee. Please do not drop off dirt, glass, concrete, asphalt or items containing mercury.

Lions Duck Derby tickets (fundraiser with proceeds going back into the community) are available for $5/each. Watch for Foothills Lions Club ticket sellers at Country Market AG Foods, Black Diamond on the weekends.

Watch for the Foothills Lions Club float in the parade June 6th. There will be Lions Club BBQ’s in Turner Valley & Black Diamond. Proceeds will be used for community projects.

Last Bingo dates before summer are May 22nd, June 5th & 19th. Bingo is held at Valley Neighbours Club in Turner Valley.

Foothills Lions Club Annual Golf Tournament will be held July 24th at Turner Valley Golf Course. If you would like to donate a prize, sponsor a hole, donate an item to the silent auction, or enter a golf team, please contact Lion Tyler Bray (403) 933-7746 or tylerbray6@telus.net for more information and entry forms. Proceeds will be donated to CLERC (Canadian Eyeglass Recycling Center) which provides recycled eyewear free of charge to people in developing countries. www.clerc.ca

Circle July 26th on your calendar for the Lions Pancake Breakfast. This event is held in conjunction with Marv’s Show & Shine Car Show. Pancake breakfast starts at 7am. Proceeds will be used for community projects.

Foothills Lions Club Fun Casino is available for rentals. Phone Lion James Lee (403) 933-2922 for more information and to arrange your booking. All rental proceeds are used for community projects.
