Leduc, AB – On July 29th at approximately 3 PM in the afternoon Leduc Integrated Traffic Services was on scene on the QE II in Nisku, AB with a collision. What occurred next was like a scene from a movie. Traffic was slowly proceeding past officers when a vehicle sputtered to a stop in front of a group police officers. The male driver appeared anxious and was desperately trying to re-start his vehicle.
The officer spoke to the driver to see if he needed assistance. The driver was identified as having an outstanding warrant for assault from an occurrence in the past week in Maskwacis. The driver was also driving with a suspended licence. The passenger in the vehicle also had an outstanding warrant.
“This vehicle the individual was driving broke down at the wrong place, at the wrong time.” Notes Cst. Julian CELMS of the Leduc RCMP. “Our first thought was to help him, but it turned out he and the passenger helped us clear up some outstanding warrants.”
The driver, Madison Dale SOOSAY of Maskwacis, was charged with Driving While Suspended. He was released by a Justice of the Peace on cash bail. His First Appearance for his driving charge will be on July 31st, 2014 in Leduc Provincial Court.
