Learn About the Springbank Reservoir at May Open Houses


As part of an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) underway, Albertans can learn more about the Springbank-Offstream Reservoir and share their feedback at upcoming open houses.

Project members will provide updates about the project, including the EIA, engineering related activities and design and development. The public can also learn more about the regulatory processes and road alterations required to accommodate the reservoir.

In accordance with the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act (2012), Alberta Transportation has submitted the project description to the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (CEAA) to determine if a federal environmental assessment is required. This review includes a 20-day public comment period.

The EIA examines a variety of issues, including but not limited to air quality, noise, vegetation and wetlands, historical resources, traditional knowledge and traditional land use.
