“This weekend, candidates and volunteers called and knocked on the doors of over 200,000 Canadians across the country – more than any other weekend in our Party’s history outside of an election period,” said National Campaign Co-Chair, Katie Telford. “Canvassers had the opportunity to share our message for fairness with Canadians, and the feedback has been incredible. Canadians are excited about the plan and are eager to find out how much more money will be left in their pockets every month by using the online benefit tool featured on liberal.ca.”
The Day of Action is a country-wide, volunteer-run initiative, supported by the Liberal Party of Canada. It is designed to mobilize volunteers across Canada, with a goal of engaging Canadians in the lead up to the next federal election. Liberal candidates and volunteers were not only active in their communities, but also extremely active on social media with the Twitter hashtags #WeekendofAction and #FindeSemaineDAction, which were trending throughout the weekend.
“It’s incredible to watch the strength and momentum of our grassroots movement as it continues to grow,” said Director of Volunteer Mobilization, Hilary Leftick. “We saw over 3,500 volunteers, from over 190 ridings, in every province, participate in our Weekend of Action. What’s even more incredible is to see how enthusiastic, well-trained, and election-ready these volunteers are already. This volunteer -driven movement is at the centre of our election strategy, and we are more ready than ever.”
