Kananaskis, Alberta – On May 24, 2016 the Kananaskis RCMP received a report of an overdue climber. The climber left his Calgary residence the morning of May 23, 2016 advising friends of his intention to climb Mt. Lawson.
The climber’s vehicle was located in an access road near Mt. Lawson and his body was recovered a short time later. Preliminary investigation reveals the climber may have triggered a small snow avalanche.
The Calgary Medical examiner will be conducting an autopsy later today. The name of the deceased male will not be released.
