Each year in September, Between Friends has dedicated a day to Friendship. This day has been proclaimed by the Mayor of Calgary, Naheed Nenshi, “Calgary Friendship Day”. We want to share with fellow Calgarians, who we are and what we do for children, youth, and adults with disabilities.
In the past, we have filled Stephens Avenue with members, volunteers and thousands of carnations to help us share the gift of friendship with our fellow Calgarians.
In 2015, we will be celebrating Calgary Friendship Day with a twist. Instead of hitting the streets, we’re reaching out to our social media followers and the public to share the gift of friendship online using Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. We will be sharing our stories and hope that our friends will share theirs too!
So on Monday, September 14th log into your social media accounts, be it Facebook, Twitter or Instagram and extend the joy and value of friendship to everyone using #bffriendshipday15.
