We’re all fighting for Alberta, for the prosperity of farmers and our rural way of life.
It was a pleasure to meet with Alberta’s Minister of Agriculture, Devin Dreeshen in Ottawa this week. We recognize the immediate need to improve critical transport infrastructure, increase export capacity and remove trade barriers to help our Agriculture sector in Alberta. We want farmers to have the tools they need to succeed, and to continue to produce the best food in the world, with access to get their products to market.

Myself along with Alberta MP colleagues also welcomed Alberta Wheat Commission, Alberta Barley, and Alberta Canola to Ottawa. We discussed the devastating harvest this year for Western farmers and the immediate need for solutions, the cost of the carbon tax on drying grain and market access barriers to trade.
I also met with Canadian Cattlemen’s Association, and had the opportunity to speak at their Parliament Hill event. The beef industry contributes $9 billion in farm cash receipts, $17 billion to Canada’s GDP and 228,000 jobs. Thanks to CCA for all their work for the sector, bringing the voice of 60,000 beef farmers and ranchers to Ottawa.
