Jodi Dawson hired as new Manager of Economic Development for High River


jodiHIGH RIVER, AB: The Town of High River is pleased to announce that Jodi Dawson has been hired to lead the new economic development office and will begin her position on April 4.

“Jodi loves High River and has smart, innovative ideas that will build our community and help expand our profile locally as well as regionally – even nationally,” said Mayor Craig Snodgrass. “We are excited to have a ‘made in High River’ marketing expert to bring our town forward into the future.”

Dawson was born and raised in High River and is a results-focused leader who has been heavily involved in the community for many years. She volunteered on the Business and Tourism Advisory Committee for one year before joining the Mayor’s Economic Development Task Force. She also spearheaded the ‘Our High River’ initiative and supported the High River Business Renewal Office after the 2013 flood.

With a rich background in marketing and business development in the public, private and non-profit sectors, Dawson has a demonstrated talent for creating value and delivering impact in Toronto, Edmonton and Calgary. She has also founded her own local coaching and consulting firm called ‘Bringing Possibility to Life’ and holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing from the University of Calgary.

“I have spent two years talking to High River residents and business owners about what they love and what they want for their community,” said Dawson. “It’s about showing residents, visitors and investors that High River isn’t just alive, but thriving and that we’re building a community with confidence, character and integrity.”
