EDMONTON, AB – Saturday, Wildrose Leader Brian Jean released the following statement on NDP Leader Rachel Notley’s comments on Northern Gateway and the Keystone XL pipelines.
“Albertans deserve strong leadership that will stand up for Albertans on jobs, growth and long-term prosperity.
“We’ve seen this campaign a coalition for higher taxes unite between the NDP and PCs, and now we are seeing this coalition attack jobs in our energy sector.
“In 2007, Jim Prentice agreed with the NDP plan to raise royalty rates, and now Rachel Notley is attacking important pipeline infrastructure for our economy.
“Wildrose is committed to protect jobs in our energy sector and make sure our resources can get to market. It’s critical that we continue our work to advocate for the Keystone XL pipeline, and ensure our pipeline to the west coast is built as soon as possible.
“Quite simply, during a time of economic certainty, Albertans cannot afford to have these dangerous ideas from the coalition for higher taxes attacking our future prosperity.
“The only way to not raise your taxes and to protect jobs and growth on May 5th is to vote Wildrose.”
Saturday night, Jean attended a, “We Love Oilsands Dinner” in Fort McMurray to support Alberta’s energy industry.
