FORT McMURRAY, AB (March 30, 2015): Today, the Wildrose party announced Wildrose Leader Brian Jean and Tany Yao as the two Wildrose candidates for Fort McMurray.
Jean will be the candidate for his home riding of Fort McMurray-Conklin. As the Wildrose Leader, former MP for Fort-McMurray-Athabasca and life-long resident for the region, Jean said he’s ready to stand up for the people of Fort McMurray.
“With all of the broken promises made by the PC government and the inability of our local MLAs to deliver any improvement in quality of life for our citizens, I believe it’s time for new leadership,” Jean said. “I love my home. I have lived here for almost 50 years and the Wildrose is ready to give Fort McMurray two strong voices in the Legislature”
Yao will be the candidate for Fort McMurray-Wood Buffalo. His family first moved to Fort McMurray in 1977, where his Dad was the last doctor in town to do house calls. He is a paramedic firefighter who has been working in emergency services for over 20 years. He eventually moved into management running Emergency Medical Services in Wood Buffalo.
“This election is not about what the PCs have done. This election is about what they haven’t done. Broken promises after broken promises,” Yao said. “For far too long, Fort McMurray and Northern Alberta have been ignored by a PC government that is out of touch with the needs of our community. It’s time for a fresh start and positive change.”
