A joint Open House was held October 28, 2015
More than 260 people came out to learn about IDP Basics, Growth Areas, Transportation, Interface Issues, Conservation and Environment and Public Engagement. The presentation boards from the open house can be viewed at MD of Foothills website.
To accommodate long term growth for the City of Calgary, maps of four different future growth scenarios were on display for discussion purposes. It is important to note that the future growth areas that are eventually agreed upon by the two municipalities are intended to accommodate very long term growth and the City has indicated that they would likely not be entering into discussions with the M.D. of Foothills about annexation for at least 20 years.
