Spruce Meadows is proud to announce that last year’s hugely popular Horses Jump to Give a Leg up initiative is back for another colourful season! In partnership with the Calgary Sun and Conoco Phillips, Spruce Meadows celebrates its 40th Anniversary by giving back to the community and its vitally important charities, foundations and Not-For-Profit organizations.
Twenty organizations will be selected to create an innovative design on a life-sized fibreglass horse. All of the horses will be unveiled at the ‘National’ Tournament presented by ROLEX, June 3-7, 2015. The decorated horses, stabled at Spruce Meadows for the outdoor tournament season, will be available for purchase in an online auction during the summer months. Bidding will close at the ‘Masters’ Tournament in September. All proceeds from the sale of each created equine herd will go to the organization behind its imaginative design.
Eligible organizations are invited to submit their application to take part in the “Horses Jump To Give A Leg Up” program by Friday, April 24, 2015.
The colourful herd will adorn Spruce Meadows for the public to enjoy until the horses are re-located to their new homes immediately after the ‘Masters’ Tournament in September.
