High Streamflow advisories have been issued for the Highwood and Sheep Rivers.
Advisories apply to streams and their tributaries unless otherwise noted.
Overnight the foothills and eastern slopes south of Calgary have received between 20 – 50 mm of precipitation. The precipitation has fallen as snow at higher elevations down to as low as 1500 m. The system currently affecting southern Alberta could produce up to another 20 mm of precipitation before it moves off of the foothills and the slopes by this evening.
Water levels in the advisory area may rise quickly over the next day with levels increasing by between 0.5 to 1 m. Widespread flooding is not expected, but some low lying areas may be impacted.
