High River votes to rejoin Calgary Regional Partnership

High River, AB – At their regular meeting February 23, High River Town Council voted to rejoin the Calgary Regional Partnership (CRP).

“It’s important that High River have a voice in the future development of this area,” said Mayor Craig Snodgrass. “Through this partnership we will have more influence by being part of the discussion and presenting High River’s interests on decisions that could affect us.”

The CRP includes 12 municipalities in the Calgary region who work on a voluntary basis to collaboratively create long-range plans in areas such as transportation, economic development, water resources and regional services.

“Through the CRP we have access to regional economic development information, transportation opportunities and best practices for creating sustainable communities,” said Snodgrass. “It also gives us more opportunity to ensure High River’s needs are included in any decisions that might affect us.”
