High River RCMP Investigate Armed Robbery

High River, Alta. – The RCMP in High River are investigating an armed robbery and looking for public assistance in the identification of the suspects.

At approximately 8:30 p.m. on December 1, two masked males entered the Rock-a Doodle Restaurant in High River, brandishing machetes.  One of the suspects held an employee and a customer at knife point while the other suspect took the money in the VLTs.  The suspects then forced the employee to direct them to the safe, which they removed from the building. 

Neither the employee nor the customer were injured during this incident.

The suspects are described as follows:

Suspect #1

–      male, between 5’5” and 6’0” tall – lanky build

–      wearing black jeans, shoes and jacket

–      wearing a balaclava with sunglasses

Suspect #2

–      male, between 5’5” and 6’0” tall – stockier build than the first, but not fat

–      wearing black jeans, shoes and jacket

–      wearing some type of Halloween mask with white eyes. 

The suspects fled in a silver, newer model Chevrolet or GM truck, possibly a crew or extended cab. There was a white decal in the top centre of the back window that may have been from Okotoks Chev/GM.  The suspects were inside the restaurant for approximately a half hour.   

High River RCMP are also looking to speak with a possible witness that was walking on the west sidewalk across from the restaurant around 9:18 p.m. that evening.  If you are that person, or if you have information about the above described suspects, please contact the High River RCMP at 403-652-2357.
