High River RCMP Interrupt Break and Enter in Progress

High River, Alta. – Break and enter – business, Theft Under $5000, Mischief under $5000.00 & Flight from Police.

In the early morning hours of February 9th, 2020, while conducting routine patrols in High River, RCMP located an older model pickup truck backed into a local liquor store in the 100 block of 3 Avenue SE. The RCMP officer noted a smashed out window indicating a possible break and enter in progress. RCMP attempted a traffic stop in the parking lot, the pickup truck fled driving dangerously and at a high rate of speed eastbound on 3 Avenue. The truck was then seen by another officer on 12 Avenue SE travelling well over 100 Km/h. A pursuit was not initiated.

The truck is described as a Older model 1992-1998 Chevrolet 1500 or GMC 1500 pickup Green and tan in colour. RCMP are asking if anyone has video footage of a second suspect that took off on foot Northbound just after 2:00 AM, In between 1 Street SE and 2 street SE near the Birchwood park area, please drop off the footage to the High River Detachment.
