High River RCMP – Additional Charges Laid in Thefts from Retail Stores


High River, Alberta – High River RCMP have laid 7 additional charges in relation to thefts from retail stores in the Calgary area.  Through surveillance photos and forensic evidence, High River RCMP were able to identify and charge one adult and two youths who are alleged to be responsible for 2 offences in the Town of High River.

On December 27, 2017 at 5:00 p.m., High River RCMP responded to a theft complaint at the Foothills Mobility store.  Four males entered the store, grabbed cell phones and then fled on foot.  Kareeba JOSEPH (19) and one youth have been charged with Theft under $5000 and Mischief.

On January 2, 2018 at 8:30 p.m., High River RCMP responded to a theft complaint at the Mark’s store.  Five males entered the store, stole numerous pieces of clothing and then fled to a waiting vehicle.  Kareeba JOSEPH (19) and two youth have been charged with Theft under $5000.

Kareeba JOSEPH has been released from custody and is scheduled to make a court appearance on March 2nd, 2018 at Okotoks Provincial Court.

The two youths, who cannot be named, have been released from custody with court appearance dates of February 23rd and March 23rd, 2018 at Okotoks Provincial Court.

Charges on these files are an excellent example of collaboration between police agencies and the public.  High River RCMP is appreciative of the information sharing from all involved that lead to the arrest and charging of the individuals involved.
