HIGH RIVER, AB: The High River Library will be temporarily closed as of September 28 while staff transfer the collection back to its permanent location on First Street.
Library staff are hoping to reopen at the permanent location, the week after Thanksgiving.
The library has been undergoing remediation and renovations for several months and construction is scheduled to be completed by the end of September when staff can begin returning all of the inventory back to its permanent location.
“It’s an exciting time,” said Library Director Deb Gardiner. “We are really looking forward to moving back home but there is a lot of work needed to complete the process.”
The temporary location on 12 Ave, where the library has been operating since the flood, will be permanently closed as of September 28. Anyone needing to access any of the library’s resources are encouraged to come in before then.
A grand re-opening for the library is scheduled for November and more information will be provided closer to the date.
