This year, North American Retail Hardware Association (NRHA) honored eight Young Retailers of the Year at a banquet at the All Industry Conference and National Hardware Show in Las Vegas in May. The national recognition program, now in its 19th year, identifies and promotes the next generation of aspiring independent home improvement retailers and recognizes individual achievement in the industry by retailers 35 years of age and younger throughout the United States and Canada. Selected from different retail categories, winners are chosen based on criteria such as career accomplishments, community involvement, hardware industry education and extracurricular activities.
Honorees are recognized in three categories including stores with annual sales under $2 million, stores with annual sales over $2 million and retailers operating multiple stores.
These individuals have made amazing achievements as young professionals and we look forward to their contributions to the industry in years to come! Congrats to the winners.
Heather Kreffer, High River
Shortly after Kreffer took over partial ownership of the store, it and the community were devastated by a flood. Five months after the flood, thanks to hard work and careful management of her resources, Heather opened a new and improved High River Home Hardware. Under Heather’s leadership, the new store offers an improved customer experience and increased levels of customer service.
Heather shares ownership of the High River store with Dave Linthorne and Dan Dubeau.
