HIGH RIVER, AB: Extra care to the underground utilities around the Centre Street bridge is causing some changes to the previously scheduled July bridge closures. Three new dates have now been set for Tuesday, July 24, Wednesday, July 25 and Thursday, July 26, barring any future unforeseen circumstances. The additional day closure will allow crews to carefully work with the underground utilities to ensure no damage is incurred.
The Town would like to thank High River residents and businesses for their continued patience and understanding while this work is happening, and throughout the entire construction of the flood gate. A detour route has been set up to help redirect traffic during the closure, and a three-way stop has been placed at 3 Avenue S.E. and 5 Street S.E. to help with traffic flow. Flaggers will also be present along 498 Avenue East and 5 Street East during peak traffic times to help ease congestion.
