High River Celebrated Canada Day in Newly Restored George Lane Park

The River City Car Club held their annual Christmas in July in the park with all funds raised going to Rowen House. There were plenty of nice rides on the ball diamond and adjoining parking lot.

Councillors Emile Blockland, Cathy Couey and Don Moore served up birthday cake after we sang O’ Canada at the Gazebo.

There were some talented performers on the stage near the concession where the High River Lions were serving up some wonderful food at a very reasonable cost.

There were smiles and laughter and kids at play. The people of High River were not only celebrating Canada’s Birthday but the restoration of their much loved park!
