HIGH RIVER, AB: The burning ban issued for the Town of High River on May 5 has now been lifted as there has been sufficient rainfall in the area.
The High River Fire Department asks that all residents and visitors continue to use extra caution with their outdoor fire pits, campfires and the disposal of cigarette butts. The situation will be closely monitored in the coming weeks and the fire ban may be reinstated should dry conditions return.
The MD of Foothills and Provincial burning bans are still in effect; this includes a temporary province wide restriction on off-highway vehicle (OHV) recreational use on public lands and provincial parks. More information is available at http://www.mdfoothills.com and www.albertafirebans.ca
