This is the first of the walks scheduled as follow up to the April 7 “Healthy Development” meeting where we continued the conversation about “Pathways & Trails” development in Black Diamond and Turner Valley.
At that last meeting we heard presentations by Gary Taylor, General Manager at the Turner Valley Golf Club, and Matt Atkinson, Planning Coordinator with the Town of Turner Valley. One of the main foci at that meeting was the prospect of looping the Friendship Trail.
At this first follow up walk we’ll have Gary as our guide to scout out some of the areas a looping trail might traverse.
Again, that is this Monday, May 4, 2:00pm at the Turner Valley Golf Club. So far the weather forecast looks good with partially cloudy skies and temperatures in the low 20s. Do wear good walking shoes.
We also have a second walk tentatively scheduled for the end of the week, Friday, May 8, in Black Diamond. We’re aiming for 2:00 with that walk as well. Rod Ross, Planning and Development Officer for the Town of Black Diamond, will lead us on that walk.
And lastly, a reminder that we’ll have our monthly “Healthy Development” conversation meeting on May 12 this month so as to avoid overdoing it on election day (May 5).
Looking forward to seeing you and stretching our legs and minds.
