The Glenbow Ranch Park Foundation (GRPF) has received combined funding of $39,840 from the TD Friends of the Environment Foundation.
“This generous funding from TD Friends of the Environment Foundation helps us to take the next step in protecting and reestablishing native grassland in previously disturbed areas of Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park. This support will help us develop best practices for native grassland restoration,” said Susan de Caen, Executive Director of the GRPF.
Grant funding is in support of two projects at Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park. The grant of $28,900 will help restore 2.7 acres of native grasslands through the Grasslands Restoration and Public Engagement Program. The grant of $10,940 will support the Rescue the Fescue – Invasive Plant Species Plan that protects native grasslands through the removal of invasive plant species.
“We are committed to our mandate of protecting the environment and supporting local, grassroots projects in the communities where our customers and employees, live, work and play,” says Joe Culos, TD Friends of the Environment Foundation, Prairie Region, Board Chair. “We’re proud to support the important work being done by the Glenbow Ranch Park Foundation in protecting and preserving our local environment.”
