FSD Facility Services Site Improvements

The Board passed a motion authorizing division administration to move forward with tendering site and drainage improvements to the Facility Services building on 12th Avenue in High River. Neighbouring site improvements following the June 2013 flood have resulted in significant drainage issues on FSD’s property, posing a threat the building, which has since been fully-restored through an insurance claim. Since selling an adjacent piece of property to Highwood Distillers several years ago, FSD has held the funds in reserve. The division proposes to use those funds to complete the drainage work, remediate the parking lot, erect a closed lot for storage of grounds maintenance vehicles, add a paved visitor parking area and incorporate some landscaping. Two preliminary estimates have both come in under the amount of funding set aside.
