Fourth Annual Building the Legacy Sale Surpasses $162,000

ROCKY VIEW COUNTY, AB – The fourth annual Canadian Angus Foundation Building the Legacy Sale far exceeded expectations by raising more than $162,000 for the Canadian Angus Foundation on Saturday, June 6th, during the Canadian Angus National Convention in Calgary, AB. The sale was initiated in 2012 to support the Foundation in preserving and expanding the Angus breed for future generations through education, youth development, scientific and market research and historical restoration.

Generous donors contributed 68 lots of Angus semen and embryos, three picks of the herd, artwork and experience packages. The highest selling item was a pick of the bred heifers from Cudlobe Farms of Stavely, AB, purchased for $17,000 by Netherton Angus/Highland Wagyu from Scotland. The support for the sale was extremely strong and we thank all the donors and buyers of the fourth annual Building the Legacy Sale.

The Canadian Angus Foundation was incorporated in 1993 and is the charitable arm of the Canadian Angus Association.
