As part of FortisAlberta’s commitment to the environment, they once again offered the Community Naturalization Grant program in 2015.
The Town of Okotoks was the recipient of a $3,000 grant to purchase plant material for the bio-retention beds at the Town’s riparian site. In addition to providing storm water management for the operation site, the vegetated bio-swales contribute to the re-naturalization of the native forest on this previously disturbed site within the river valley.
