It was three years ago that the community of High River experienced a devastating flood that evacuated its 13,000 residents for several weeks while work was completed to make them safe to return. On Saturday, June 18, FortisAlberta marked the anniversary of the flood by hosting a barbecue in the community’s honour. Our team of volunteers served more than 900 community members and provided bucket truck rides for people of all ages.
One of the highlights of the day included a special bucket truck ride for one of our District Managers while his family watched this poignant moment. “Thanks to the outstanding care, compassion and efforts of our High River employees, we were able to make a wish come true for Mr. Harris and his family,” says Jennifer MacGowan, Director, Corporate Communications. “There wasn’t a dry eye around and his family was so incredibly appreciative of our employees for making this happen for him.”
