Fort McMurray Salvation Army Has All of the Physical Goods Needed at This Time

Fort McMurray, AB – At this time, The Salvation Army has more than enough physical goods to meet the demand and would prefer to now receive monetary fire relief donations that will assist in the long term over the next year.

“Our church sanctuary is overflowing with donated items and our parking lot is full of packed storage containers,” says Major Bond Jennings, Associate Corps Officer for The Salvation Army in Fort McMurray. “We just don’t have the capacity to continue accepting physical goods.”

Since the May wildfires, The Salvation Army in Fort McMurray has received donations of physical goods such as clothing, food, and furnishings to assist area residents during the recovery process.

“Albertans and Canadians have been so incredibly generous in their desire to help our community and we are grateful,” continues Major Jennings. “It means so much to all of us here in Fort Mac to see the outpouring of goodwill.”
