Students at FCHS/AHSFA observed Mental Health Week, May 4-10, in a big way. They planned several activities to foster awareness and discussion. Among the initiatives was a 30-minute play, Thistle Blossoms, a fictional story about a female college student who expresses suicidal thoughts in a term paper and is helped by her creative writing instructor.
Over at Oilfields School, courageous Grade 12 student Colby Willis shared his journey with schizophrenia with his fellow students. Colby was also one of the featured speakers at FSD’s first-ever Health Symposium help in mid-April.
