High River, AB – Cyclists will again be hitting the road for the second annual Ride to Horizon cycling event in the Foothills riding.
Easter Seals Camp Horizon has undertaken a huge $10 million fundraising effort to renovate the dorms at Camp Horizon, and on July 29-30 MP Barlow and his team will once again be riding 200km from Crowsnest Pass to the Bar U Ranch and finally to Camp Horizon to raise awareness and funds for the renovation project.
“Easter Seals Camp Horizon is an incredible facility and we are blessed to have it in our community,” said Foothills MP John Barlow. “The Ride to Horizon raises funds for the critical infrastructure improvements at the camp, but it also raises awareness about this important amenity in southern Alberta. Camp Horizon welcomes 1,500 children each summer and for a week it offers children with disabilities the chance to just be a kid and enjoy summer camp.”
Last year riders raised $10,000 in funds that went directly to the camp and had an immediate impact on the campers. The goal is to double that amount this year.
