Foothills Lions Club Helps “Face Off in the Foothills”

Foothills Lions Club Donation to High Country Hockey

The Foothills Lions Club made a donation to the High Country Rockies Minor Hockey last week.  Diane Bray, 1st Vice-President of the club presented the $500 cheque to Monica Surgeson, the Fundraising Chair for the club with Jodie Sieben, also on the Fund raising committee, joining them.

Several hockey players from all age groups came to show their appreciation for the help that the Foothills Lions Club are giving them.

The donation is going to help off-set the costs of hosting the “Face-Off in the Foothills” Atoms Hockey Tournament.  The tournament is for 9 and 10 year old hockey players and will be taking place on March 21st, 22nd and 23rd at the Oilfields Regional Arena in Black Diamond.

This will be yet another boost to our local economy with 80 to 100 hockey players plus their families spending time in our community. Thank you minor hockey! Organizing and hosting a hockey tournament is a huge endeavour.
