Fire Prevention Contest Winners Enjoy Lunch with the High River Fire Department Crew

Town of High River Fire Department hosted a family luncheon on December 15 for the Blanchard family – Marissa, Chris and son Gordon, who won a draw for lunch with the fire crew as part of a Fire Prevention Week contest.
Gordon had fun testing the alert tone system, sitting in the fire trucks, checking out the cool tools and learning what the different trucks and equipment do. The day finished up with a friendly fire fighter challenge between Gordon and his parents, easily won by Gordon each time. The challenge included pulling hose rolls, dragging a rescue dummy, hammering a wedger sled and finishing off with hitting a target with a water nozzle.
Fun was had by all, and special thanks to “B” shift fire crew for being excellent hosts.
