EPCOR Flood Protection Project in Okotoks

Water Treatment Plant Armouring – Green Stairs Closure

Please be advised that the green stairs and the hatched area (see diagram below) will be closed from approximately the third week of July until the end of the first week in August to allow the installation of the water treatment plant armouring. The Laurie Boyd Bridge, south of the Okotoks Public Library, will remain open.

Pedestrians will be redirected to the Woodhaven Bridge or Sheep River Park pathways during this time. We ask that you follow the signs and instructions set out as pedestrian access is subject to change as the project progresses.

For more information please contact EPCOR: 403-938-1230.

Please be advised that access to the Sheep River pathway will be limited this summer, but is will remain open. On behalf of the Town, EPCOR has planned and will execute a flood protection program for the Water Treatment Plant located in the park beginning approximately July 6.  See graphic below.

The bridge just south of the Okotoks Public Library will also remain open for the duration of the project; however access to the park will be controlled with fencing for the protection of pedestrians. Should you choose to access the park near the construction site, we ask that you remain within the fenced boundaries and stay alert. Thank you for your cooperation.

Should you have any questions, please contact EPCOR at 403-938-1230.
