Employer Engagement in Rural Communities in Southern Alberta Pilot Project

The Classic Business Consulting Group, on behalf of CIC (Citizenship and Immigration Canada), CAHRC (Canadian Agricultural Human Resource Council) and CCIS (Calgary Catholic Immigration Society), is working on a project designed to increase the number of newcomers to Canada moving to smaller centers to live and work.

This pilot project, funded by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has been designed to learn about the labour market needs of 10 rural community in southern Alberta, and identify strategies for connecting employers with a pool of immigrant and refugee workers who are willing to relocate to these areas.

Over the next two months, Classic Business Consulting Group will be holding a series of meetings to hear about the challenges Okotoks and its surrounding region face in regards to employment (both in the recent past, currently and in the future). Formal invitations are being sent out to businesses detailing meeting date, time and location.
