Edson, AB – On Friday, December 4, the RCMP received confirmation from the Edmonton Medical Examiner’s Office, that the manner of death for the three victims discovered at a rural residence east of Edson on November 29 was homicide. Police can confirm the identities of the three victims as follows:
– Daniel Miller, age 46 years
– Roxanne Berube, age 36 years
– Jazmine Lyon, age 16 years
Mickell Clayton Bailey, a 19-year-old resident of the area, has been charged with two counts of First Degree Murder in the deaths of Ms. Berube and of Miss Lyon, and with one count of Second Degree Murder in the death of Mr. Miller.
On Thursday, December 3, police concluded the execution of search warrant at a residence where Bailey had been staying. The search resulted in the seizure of over 30 firearms, some of which were loaded. In addition to the firearms, police seized together with multiple illegal rifle magazines, ammunition, body armour as well as items of stolen property. Additional charges are pending further investigation by police. Bailey’s first court appearance is scheduled for December 15, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. in Provincial Court in Edson.
