More than 20 Canadian cities to host Stay at Home Gala events on May 2
For Immediate Release – On May 2, Edmonton will take part in a nationwide initiative where cities and regions from coast to Canadian coast will connect online for the national Stay at Home Gala, endeavouring to raise much-needed funds for communities impacted by COVID-19.
“The Edmonton broadcast provides an opportunity for community members to join Canadians across the country, to hear from national speakers and work together to raise funds for an extremely worthy cause,” says Lead Edmonton Volunteer and JCI Canada President, Stefan Cherwoniak.
The national and regional Stay at Home Gala will feature all the familiar elements of a gala: game-changing keynote speaker and six-time Olympian and ER resident, Hayley Wickenheiser and music and entertainment from Canadian artists such as Juno Award and Polaris Prize-nominated singer, Tanika Charles. Guests will be invited to dress-up and welcome Canadian personalities into their living rooms, experiencing social distancing at its finest.
The Edmonton Broadcast will include cocktail demonstrations, live music with Robin Cisek whose single “Waiting on You” remained on the Indigenous Music Countdown for 24 consecutive weeks and top-tier motivational speakers like Mike Staver (renowned leadership coach), Brian Scudamore (CEO/Forbes writer) and Dave Carroll (musician/speaker). Your favourite host, Mike Chalut will host many more well-known speakers and entertainers before moving into the National broadcast, managed by the National Stay at Home Gala team.
