Drumheller RCMP Respond to Stolen Vehicle Fire

Shortly before 4:00 am on Sunday, July 24th, Drumheller RCMP responded to a complaint of erratic driving in East Coulee.  While responding, five more calls for service were received regarding driving complaints of a pickup truck within East Coulee as well as the nearby Hoodoos Campground.  The suspect vehicle was described as speeding, spinning its tires, and was believed to have been involved in collisions due to noises heard and damage observed.
While investigating these incidents, police were then called to a vehicle fire in an alley back in Drumheller.  The fire department responded quickly and dealt with the blaze, which is being currently being investigated by police.  There were no occupants and no injuries reported.  This truck was believed to be the vehicle responsible for the earlier driving complaints.
Within the next few hours, five more calls for service were received by police pertaining to property damage in the east part of the valley, believed to have been done by a vehicle.  Damage was reported to gates on private property, an oil and gas site, and the Atlas Coal Mine.  Vehicle damage was also done to the Hoodoos recreation area.  One of these calls to police was to report a boat and trailer were stolen out of north Drumheller overnight.
Shortly before 6:00 pm the stolen boat and trailer were recovered near East Coulee.
Police are actively investigating all of these complaints and would ask anyone who witnessed any of these events to please call Drumheller RCMP at 403-823-7590 if you have not yet spoken with an officer.
