You are invited to join the communities of Black Diamond and Turner Valley for the annual Diamond Valley Parade and Discovery Days being held Friday, June 3 and Saturday, June 4, 2016.
Kick off the two-day event at the charity BBQ lunch hosted by RBC in Turner Valley on Friday. Then cool down at the Dr. Lander Memorial Pool and the spray park. In the evening Western Financial will be hosting a 3-on-3 ball hockey tournament at the outdoor rink to raise funds for Legacy Park.
The action starts bright and early on Saturday with charity pancake breakfasts at Oilfields High School and Diamond Valley Dental in Black Diamond. Once you’ve had your fill march on over to the annual Diamond Valley Parade starting at 10:00am. A full day of family fun follows in both towns. Hop on your bike or take a stroll down the Friendship Trail to catch the action in Turner Valley or jump on the shuttle bus to get between towns.
Featured Saturday activities include bounce houses, a petting zoo, a climbing wall, and face painting for the kids in Millennium Park, complemented by a local artisan market, garden club plant sale and Rhubarb Festival at locations throughout Turner Valley. Black Diamond will host the Foothills Lions Club BBQ and Duck Derby in the municipal parking lot (proceeds will go towards a new BMX park); the Black Diamond Band Stand at The Stop Coffee Shop will have live music from 3-7pm; and Branch Market is hosting a pop-up artisan market all day.
