Cochrane RCMP respond to Arson on Stoney Nakoda First Nation


 

Cochrane Alberta – On October 30th, 2015 at approximately 11:30 P.M., Cochrane RCMP responded to a residential fire on the Stoney Nakoda First Nations Reserve. Officer found the house was fully engulfed in flames, upon arrival and ultimately was burned to the ground.

19 year old, Tyren DIXON of Stoney Nakoda First Nations, was arrested at the scene and subsequently charged for Arson.  Dixon has been held in custody and makes his first court appearance in Cochrane Provincial court on Wednesday, November 4, 2015.

The estimated damage to the home is approximately $100 000.

No one was in the home at the time of the fire and there were no reports of injuries in the matter.

The investigation is continuing.
