On the 27th of July 2015 at approximately 1:30 PM, Cochrane RCMP and Emergency Services, responded to a two vehicle collision, involving a truck and car. The Truck was south bound on highway 22, just coming over the over pass for the Trans Canada Highway (highway 1), when a North Bound car, made a U-turn in front of it and struck the car on the driver’s door. The lone occupants of the car, a 48 year old male from Edmonton, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The truck had six (6) occupants, two adults and four(4) kids under ten years old, from Wildwood , AB, suffered minor injuries. Two of the kids where transported to the hospital as a precaution; the family also traveled in the ambulance. Alcohol and speed are not believe to be a factor in the collision and the highway continues to be closed at this time, 3:10 PM, as the RCMP Traffic Analyst, completes his investigation.
The name of the decease has not been released pending notification of the next of kin.
