Child and Youth Advocate Releases Investigative Review Involving Serious Injury of a Two-year-old

“This is the fourth review by my office involving the serious injury of a young person. It is alarming when a child is injured in the care of government. This review highlights the importance of planning for children to ensure their relationship needs are met, and they are in the best possible placement for their continued growth and development.”

– Del Graff, Provincial Child and Youth Advocate

The Office of the Child and Youth Advocate has completed an Investigative Reviews regarding a serious injury and is publicly releasing the results of the review as outlined under theChild and Youth Advocate Act.

Two-year-old Teanna sustained a life-threatening injury while in-care. She has made a full physical recovery, but still has emotional challenges.
