On February 6, 2018 a report of road rage involving threats was reported to the Chestermere RCMP. At approximately 3:15 p.m. a female resident of Chestermere encountered an unknown male in a blue sedan near West Creek Car Wash on Rainbow Road in Chestermere. After what was reported to be a misunderstanding while negotiating the intersection of Merganser Drive and Rainbow Road the unknown male followed aggressively to the area of Our Lady of Wisdom school. The female struck an object sustaining minor injuries while attempting to evade the unknown male. The unknown male stopped, yelled vulgarities and uttered a threat before leaving the scene.
The unknown male is described as stocky and wore a black toque, a Bluetooth earpiece, and a yellow and orange construction vest. The vehicle is described as a blue sedan similar to a 2000 model Honda Civic. Unfortunately a license plate was not obtained. Anyone with information concerning this matter are encouraged to contact the Chestermere RCMP at 403-204-8777.
The Chestermere RCMP would like to remind the public to report any “road rage” incident as soon as safely possible to the police for immediate attendance. Situations such as these can escalate quickly and pose a risk to the public should an erratic driving pattern develop as a result. Useful information for police include a vehicle license plate, detailed description of the driver, or a photo if you are safely able to obtain one when your vehicle is not in motion. If you are not able to immediately contact the police, drive to the nearest detachment or to an area where there are larger groups of people present such as a service station, mall, or grocery store for assistance.
