Check For Poisons

Check for Poisons

Safe Kids Week 2020 Postponed

In light of public health directives to stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus, Parachute has moved to working online. As an organization committed to preventing injuries and saving lives, we know how important taking these steps are.

Due to the current situation with COVID-19, Safe Kids Week 2020 has been postponed. The health of your family, your community and yourselves is our top priority. We appreciate your interest in Safe Kids Week and all of your efforts so far and we look forward to moving ahead with the campaign as soon as it is safe to do so.

#CheckForPoisons spring campaign

In the meantime, we know many parents are at home with their children right now while we all do our part and practise social distancing. This makes the topic we had chosen for Safe Kids Week 2020, poison prevention, very important and timely.

With this in mind, we will be launching a #CheckForPoisons online campaign on April 27, 2020. The #CheckForPoisons online campaign, sponsored by Hydro One and Health Canada, draws attention to the importance of keeping potential poisons locked up high, out of sight and out of reach of children. We will make available easy-to-use resources to identify poisons around your house, with tips to safely store all potential poisons and ensure your kids stay safe at home. Look out for these on April 27 at parachute.ca/poisoning. We will also be providing a social media guide with suggested posts and visual resources if you or your organization want to amplify our #CheckForPoisons messaging.

You can stay up-to-date on our #CheckForPoisons campaign, and our other programs, by following us @ParachuteCanada on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
